Dustin's Story
Ewing Sarcoma
No Evidence of Disease
No Evidence of Disease
Around the beginning of February 2016, Dustin was having pain in his right hip. After a couple days of consistent pain, we went to the ER. It was after a second visit to the ER for the same pain that the ER doctor ordered an MRI and found an “undetermined mass” and contacted our doctor's office to make arrangements for us to go to Salt Lake City for further testing. On March 8, 2016, Dustin was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a cancer where cells are found in the bone or in soft tissue. The oncology team set up a treatment plan that included 14 chemotherapy treatments which started on March 15th of that year and surgery to remove the tumor. Dustin has not had any evidence of disease since he finished his treatment and will continue to have quarterly scans in Salt Lake City.
