Caden's Story
Stage IV, High-Risk Neuroblastoma
No Evidence of Disease
No Evidence of Disease
While on vacation in March 2012, three year old Caden began to complain of leg pain. Two weeks later, the pain was more severe and he developed a fever that would not go away. After three days of tests in Bozeman, he was flown to Seattle Children’s Hospital and diagnosed with stage IV, high risk neuroblastoma, an aggressive form of childhood cancer. His bone marrow was completely full of cancer and a tumor was pushing on his brain, all at the tender age of 3. Caden’s treatment included chemotherapy, surgery, experimental targeted radiation therapy, bone marrow transplant, external beam radiation, immunotherapy, differentiation therapy, and an experimental drug taken for two years to prevent relapse. After four and a half years of treatment and despite three relapse scares, Caden has no evidence of disease! Caden is one of the original three children who inspired The Bozeman 3, now LightWell Foundation.
